tea’s many benefits

Tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world, right after water. It’s pure goodness, courtesy of the original mother: Nature. Inside that little green leaf is a host of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. And because tea is made with water, it’s also hydrating.

Little Me Tea is a unique blend of four teas:

White Tea comes from the buds and youngest tea leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. It’s the purest and least processed of all teas, so it’s loaded with antioxidants. As a powerful immune booster, White Tea can help detoxify the body, fight certain cancers, and is excellent for the skin.

Rooibos Tea is an herbal tea made from the Redbush plant of South Africa. It’s super high in antioxidants, full of vitamins and minerals, and contains polyphenols that fight allergy symptoms. Rooibos has anti-spasmodic qualities that may aid in digestion and stomach ailments; in fact, Mothers in Africa use Rooibos to treat babies suffering from colic. It is also good for the skin, particularly for conditions such as eczema.

Hibiscus flowers aren’t just beautiful to look at; they’re also packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants like anthocyanins.

Chamomile is possibly the world’s most soothing herb. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic and anti-bacterial properties, and can help fight infections from colds.

the benefits of adding a little juice

Little Me Tea is primarily a tea drink, but it does include organic fruit and vegetable juices. A little juice in moderation can give children the necessary vitamins and minerals they need to grow strong and healthy.

Julia’s Tropical Tea combines organic apple, mango, orange and pineapple fruit juices, all high in vitamin C, with organic carrot and sweet potato juices, rich in beta-carotene. A very powerful antioxidant, beta-carotene can protect against cancer and heart disease.

Zane’s Grape Tea also contains organic apple, carrot and sweet potato juices, with the added health kick of organic red grape juice. Red grapes are an excellent source of flavanoids and antioxidants such as resveratrol, touted for its heart-healthy attributes.

lowest in sugar

Little Me Tea contains only 7 grams of sugar (from juice) per 8 oz serving. Not a single grain of added sugar. Compare that to the average 26 grams of sugar in other 100% juice beverages — which equates to more than six teaspoons of sugar in just one serving.

What’s wrong with eating sugar? A lot. Besides the obvious issues of tooth decay and obesity, excessive sugar can lead to diabetes, high cholesterol and dangerous inflammation.

Childhood obesity rates are climbing:

  • One in three children in America are overweight (American Academy of Pediatrics)
  • Obese youth are more likely to have risk factors for cardiovascular disease (CDC).
  • 20 years ago, less than 1% of children were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes; today that number has risen to 27%, due primarily to obesity. (Baylor College of Medicine)
  • For the first time in 100 years, today’s children have a lower life expectancy than their parents due to obesity and sedentary lifestyles. (World Health Organization)

Little Me Tea set out to be part of the solution with the lowest sugar content of any juice-flavored kids drink on the market. It even exceeds the Harvard School of Nutrition’s recommendation for low sugar beverages.

Pesticides are basically poisons — both to the environment and those who ingest them. Even small doses of pesticides can cause lasting damage to human health, especially during fetal development and early childhood. A Seattle study of children found that blood levels of two common pesticides fell dramatically after a five-day period of being served only organic foods. (Self Healing, Nov., 2009) A recent study also found a strong link between pesticides and the rising rates of ADHD in children.

Little Me Tea is USDA Certified Organic. And always will be.
